If reading is your sin, dive in!

Welcome to my site!

Here, you will find reviews of the books I read, along with my insights and afterthoughts — which I like to call Beyond the Pages.

I’ve always been an avid reader, but I’ve realized that only a few books stay with me in detail — where I can recall their stories, and describe how they impacted me. Many of these, were books we read in school and wrote summaries for.

So, in 2019, I decided to start writing reviews as a way to remember what I read and why I liked them. Over time, I began adding my personal insights and reflections to each review. Also writing these reviews has also helped me see how my ideas evolve and change, with each new book and new thing I learn. The more I read, the more I realize how much there still is to know. The books I have reviewed on this page are non-fictional. I don’t consider myself much of a writer, but I believe I can learn to be one, so here I begin. Through my reviews, insights, and personal stories, I hope to offer you a glimpse into how I see the world. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.

Happy Reading!

It was a fun book to read. Nonetheless, while I appreciated various concepts as I read, I regretfully struggle to recall much of it. I can recall numerous examples and recognize my own errors in forming conclusions. Yet, I find it challenging to replicate the intriguing quadratic equations or mathematical simplifications presented. I wouldn’t be able to show it to you just like that. I liked the practical techniques for calculating the square of a number close to 50 or manually determining Pi. Continue reading

I really enjoyed the book, simply because it wasn’t explained so beautifully. The book begins by emphasizing that Physics is one of the most inaccurate sciences, with much of it based on assumptions, and there’s always the possibility that what you believe in today could be disproved tomorrow. It makes you appreciate things around you differently and fosters an open mind toward many new discoveries and technologies. The author explains the fundamentals beautifully, starting with atoms and their influence on everything around us. Continue reading

This book is highly informative. It is a hard read as there is so much information and studies, but I still loved it. I come from a generation that often received advice to toughen up and refrain from complaining to succeed in a predominantly male-dominated world, I work in. Nobody expected me to do the man’s job or be part of this world—it was my own wanting and doing. If I pointed out its disadvantages, I might have been deemed unfit for the job. Continue reading
