The author has presented an interesting perspective on life. The concept of finitude is not unknown to us, but we do not acknowledge it. Time is not an external entity but an integral part of us; we control it. The author has succeeded in addressing this issue well. The parables and anecdotes are amusing and captivating. I particularly like the concept of the “joy of missing out”. Our choices are the result of the choices we make, including the ones we choose to miss out on. Continue reading

My cousin recommended this book to me, and I purchased it without any prior research. I’m thankful I did because reading it with an open mind, free from preconceptions, was a great. I liked it more than I had initially expected, and it felt as though the timing was perfect for me to engage with this book. In 2019, I rekindled my love for running and was beginning to develop a strong passion for it. Continue reading

In listening to Cal Newport’s “Deep Work,” he delves into these issues and offers recommendations for addressing them if one chooses to do so. Continue reading

When I came across a snippet of an interview with Yuval Noah Harari on YouTube, where he discusses the drawbacks of AI and how it would render people ineffective and their jobs obsolete in the future, it greatly annoyed me. As a technophile, I thought to myself, “Here is another celebrity making a fuss about something he doesn’t comprehend.” I felt he was underestimating the magnitude of our achievements and being shortsighted regarding what Large Language Models could mean for the world as a whole. I did the audio version of the book and I think that was not a very good idea. I got the basic gist, but if you are keen on following the meditation methods mentioned in the last chapters, the paper version would by more practical. The book emphasizes the importance of waking up with a sense of purpose, practicing focused living, and being mindful of your diet and how you treat your body as keys to living a healthy and fulfilling life.
