Atomic Habits by James Clear
Atomic Habits is a book that can really get you geared and motivated. Most of us have probably heard many suggestions mentioned in this book in spurts from different sources. The fact that it is consolidated into one work, is very useful. Now comes the more exciting part - will I be able to apply the tips to my life and more importantly actually follow through!
The main takeaway is that you should not trying implementing change all at once. Start one step and a time. Small, consistent habits compound over time to produce results you expect. Another interesting idea is focusing on the system rather than the goal. For example, instead of saying, “I want to run a marathon,” it is important to shift your focus to becoming the type of person who enjoys running daily.
The book also emphasizes on the cue-routine-reward cycle. Making small changes like modifying your environment to reduce friction or using habit stacking, can make it easier to stick to new routines.
I definetely recommend this book and also susbcribe to his newsletter. I look forward each week to receiving them.
